Test prep courses for teachers.

Effective October 1, 2014, The Foundations of Reading and General Curriculum test will be required for those seeking a K-6 license. This online course will prepare preservice and teachers new to NC for the Foundations of Reading test. Activities, strategies, background reading, vocabulary study, practice questions, and resources will be provided in each of the tested areas:  Foundations of Reading Development, Development of Reading Comprehension, Reading Assessment and Instruction, and Integration of Knowledge and Understanding. Karen Sumner, WRESA Elementary Coordinator, will facilitate this online, self-paced course.

The General Curriculum Mathematics Subtest is required for those seeking a NC K-6 teaching license. This online course will prepare preservice, lateral entry, and teachers new to NC for the General Curriculum Mathematics Subtest. Activities, strategies, videos, and practice tests are provided in each of the tested areas: numbers and operations, functions and algebra, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability, and open response.
